Since deciding to concentrate on painting in the late 1970's, I have been exploring its dual nature through image-making and abstraction. My source materials are often appropriated images from the media and my everyday life, art and history, and most recently, the Internet. Symbolism, spirituality, humour, local life and metaphor are all elements in my work, as is my favorite recreation - fishing.
