The concept of this painting installation was inspired by "Operation Iraqi Freedom" and the so-called "War On Terror", and the title Portraits of The New American Century comes from the Washington, D.C. think-tank - "Project for the New American Century" (PNAC) and a blueprint for US pre-emenence in the world written in September 2000 by key figures in the current Bush administration.

The three parts of the trilogy have been created to be installed together in a darkenedt venue, and the paintings incorporate fluorescent RGB colours that mimic television and computer screens when exposed to black light. The varied chessboard compostions on this page represent the variety of installation configurations possible, depending on the specific exhibition site's dimensions. In some spaces the trilogy will be mounted on free-standing walls to create a triangular room within the gallery/exhibition space.
